COMMUNITY

 PROGRAMS

Investing in education and youth is an  investment in an entire country’s sustainability – their future economic development, stability, and even democratic engagement.

BUILDING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE.

It became clear very early in our organization's development that in order to ensure that our children had bright futures within their own community, we had to take part in community growth and development outside of our family home.
In 2015, D2C redirected its focus to provide education and livelihood programs for more of the community’s severely economically disadvantaged children and youth. Through strategic outreach efforts and following community-based assessments , D2C developed partnerships with local establishments to create sustainable programs that provide children and youth with the education and the skills needed to strengthen their financial independence and break the cycle of extreme poverty.
D2C continues to develop community programs and is always striving to empower and build capacity for the community we serve. To achieve this we work alongside local residents, businesses and state entities who understand the cultural and environmental climate best and who have the drive to see Haiti and its citizens thrive.
